Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference opening keynote this year went without a new MacBook Pro, but it looks like that wasn’t the original intention! Oddly, Apple has quietly included the phrases “M1X MacBook Pro” and “M1X” as tags on its YouTube video of the live keynote, as spotted. by Max Balzer (Going through 9to5Mac).

Not only does this sound like an unspoken confirmation of at least one new Arm-powered MacBook Pro, but it also corroborates rumors that it will include a new M1 chip and that Apple will likely market it as an improved ‘X’ variant, such as he was doing it with his high-end iPads, rather than going straight to the M2. (Or, as some point out, it could mean that a member of the social media team decided to try and improve SEO and invented it.)
