Society for New Music announced Bennett Coughlin has joined the organization as administrator of marketing and development. Bennett will serve as the administrative point person for activities related to grants, marketing, public relations, and fundraising initiatives as the organization prepares to celebrate its 50th season in Central New York.

Bennett is a native of Syracuse and a recent graduate of the Eastman School of Music, where he earned a master’s degree in music leadership. He also received a bachelor’s degree in music business from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, and an associate’s degree in music from Onondaga Community College. He also works for Central New York’s professional orchestra, Symphoria, as youth orchestra manager.

Based in Syracuse, the Society for New Music commissions, performs, and records new works by regional composers, catalyzes artistic connections across Central New York, and expands the audience for new music.
