Dwayne Johnson shares his interest in playing James Bond – not a Bond villain – in a new interview. Johnson has enjoyed a busy 2021 thanks to projects like Young Rock, Jungle Cruise, and Red Notice. Each of those has found success in their own ways, whether that be through a season 2 renewal (Young Rock) or scoring the biggest opening day in Netflix history (Red Notice). Next year, the wrestler-turned-actor will board the DCEU with Black Adam, the long-awaited solo film centered on the comics anti-hero. In other words, Johnson isn’t slowing down any time soon.

The James Bond franchise is officially in a transition stage these days. After various production setbacks and numerous release date delays, the 25th installment in the long-running series, No Time to Die, finally arrived in theaters last month. It earned positive reviews from fans and critics, and it has proven to have a steady life at the box office. No Time to Die is especially notable because it is Daniel Craig’s last time playing 007.
