The college football season is in full swing which means that, after last year’s lengthy dead period, recruits and their families are back on the road for campus visits.

Elijah Rushing is among the prospects that hit the skies this past weekend to check out a game.

The class of 2024 edge rusher from Tucson (Ariz.) Salpointe Catholic made it to Notre Dame to check out the Fighting Irish in action against Purdue and returned home with a great impression of the program.

“The visit went very well and the stadium stood out the most to me as I was walking around,” Rushing told 247Sports. “The energy in the stadium was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced; the fans were really into it and it made the game that much better. I got to talk with coach Mike Elston after we took the photos and he seemed like a good person and straight forward about the where they are with the recruiting process. After seeing everything there, I would be honored to receive an offer from Notre Dame.”
