She’s spent the past several months filming a second season of her Hulu show The Great in England. And on Monday, Elle Fanning shared with her Instagram followers that the production has come to an end.

Sharing a photo of herself and co-star Nicholas Hoult in costume outside their trailers, the actress, 23, wrote: ‘Season 2 of The Great has officially wrapped. Wow. What a tremendous feat filming in a global pandemic. I am eternally grateful for the crew that kept us all safe and going.’

Elle went on: ‘This season is going to be WILLLLDDDD! I love them with all my heart. Cannot wait for you to see what we have cooked up!’

The Great is a satirical show about Russian ruler Emperor Peter and his wife Catherine which was created by Tony McNamara, who got an Oscar nomination for his screenplay for the film The Favourite.

The first season, which premiered on Hulu in May 2020, saw Catherine arriving in Russia for her arranged marriage to Peter.
