A new clip for the upcoming film, Free Guy, shows Joe Keery and Utkarsh Ambudkar hilariously confronting Ryan Reynolds’ character to lose his “skin.” 20th Century Studios just dropped a new clip from their upcoming film, Free Guy, which features Joe Keery and Utkarsh Ambudkar coming face to face with Ryan Reynolds. The Reynolds-led film was originally slated to release back in July of 2020, however the coronavirus pandemic pushed that scheduled date back three times in total.
It is now scheduled to premiere next month on August 13, 2021. Free Guy is a science-fiction action comedy that tells the story of a bank teller (Reynolds) who discovers he’s actually a non-player character (NPC) in an open-world video game. The bank teller, who is referred to as Guy, transforms himself into the hero of his own story and embarks on an adventure to save his world before the programmers shut it down.
Besides Reynolds, Free Guy also stars Keery, who is best known for his role in Netflix’s Stranger Things, and Ambudkar, star of Pitch Perfect. Both up-and-coming actors have a solid portfolio of work behind them, and it seems this new film may be a perfect chance for them to really shine.
