A California State Appeals Court has found in favor of Kourtney, Kim and Khloe Kardashian in a suit bought by the sisters against Haven Beauty and subsidiary Hillair Capital over royalty fees they were owed for their first beauty line, Khroma Beauty, according to a report published by Forbes.
The sisters were awarded US$11.5 million in royalties and US$2 million in interest and costs, Forbes reports. The line was launched in 2012 as a five-year deal, although relations between the company – then Boldface Licensing – and the Kardashians soured by 2016, with the former claiming the reality TV trio had failed in their duty to promote the brand.
Under the original deal, the Kardashians were owed royalty fees for licensing the Kardashian name, images and likeness and both the first instance judge and appeal court found that the contract to be binding.
