Kate Beckinsale proves that she still very much has her action moves ready in a new trailer for Amazon Prime’s latest streaming film, Jolt.
Kate Beckinsale is jumping back into hard-hitting action in a new trailer for Amazon’s upcoming action-comedy, Jolt. Helmed by director Tanya Wexler, best known for her 2011 romantic comedy, Hysteria, this latest Amazon Original is based on a script penned by newcomer Scott Wascha. Joining Beckinsale is an all-star cast that includes Stanley Tucci, Jai courtney, Susan Sarandon, Bobby Cannavale, and Laverne Cox.
Ahead of its premiere next month, Amazon has dropped a new trailer that introduces Beckinsale’s rage addicted, and slightly homicidal, character Lindy. While attempting to manage her extreme anger management issues using an electrode-lined vest, she embarks on a bloody trail of revenge when her new love interest is murdered.
English actress, Beckinsale, had begun her acting career at age 18, before making her U.S. debut in 1998’s The Last Days of Disco opposite Chloë Sevigny. In 2003, Beckinsale shifted away from appearing in period dramas and romantic comedies when she was cast as the vampire Selene in the hit Underworld franchise. After starring in Amazon 1990’s drama The Widow , it is exciting to see Beckinsale continue to prove her slick action credentials in what looks to be a fun and electrifying new streaming outing. Joltpremieres on Amazon Prime Video on July 23.
