Actress Scarlett Johansson has announced the imminent launch of a new skincare brand, together with Co-Founder, entrepreneur and beauty/fashion executive, Kate Foster. The range, set to launch in 2022, has received funding from The Najafi Companies, a private investment firm that has backed brands including Moon Oral Care and Tracee Ellis Ross’ Pattern Beauty.
Johansson will act as Founder and Chairman of the new company, while Foster will be Co-Founder and CEO. The company is operating independently in order for Johannsson to have creative control and ‘maintain her vision for the brand.’
Launching into the clean beauty sphere Johnansson is following in the footsteps of celebrity wellness brands, such as Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop and Kourtney Kardashian’s Poosh, which have been notoriously successful.
Speaking about the range, Johansson says, “I’ve been fascinated by the transformative power of beauty since I was a child. My mother instilled in me a passion for self-care from my early teenage years. Several years ago, I took a step back from my beauty deals with the goal of creating something true to me. The result is a clean, accessible approach to beauty.”
