Shang-chi shows off his secret martial arts skills in a new clip from the Marvel movie. The next film on the studio’s Phase 4 slate, officially titled Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, is set to introduce Simu Liu’s titular character to the MCU. Known in the comics as Marvel’s Master of Kung Fu, the film’s version of Shang-Chi is the son of Wenwu (Tony Leung), the real Mandarin and leader of the clandestine Ten Rings organization following the notorious fakeout from Iron Man 3 (although Ben Kingsley seems to have a role in Shang-Chi as well).
The film will mainly revolve around this father-son conflict, but it also boasts an intriguing supporting cast as well, namely Awkawfina who plays Katy, a close friend of Shang-Chi’s who is unaware of his past. Meng’er Zhang is making her screen debut as Xialing, Wenwu’s daughter and Shang-Chi’s estranged sister. Creed II‘s Florian Munteanu will play a secondary villain in Razor Fist, a mercenary who is hired to kill Shang-Chi. Benedict Wong will return to the MCU, along with Michelle Yeoh playing a different character this time around who is the guardian of a mythical city.
