Ever since the pandemic came one-and-a-half years ago, we have been fighting it, but now it appears we have the tools to counter the current and future pandemics. Winston Churchill famously said, “Never let a good crisis go to waste”.
We Indians are great at that. We converted the 1991 financial crisis into Liberalization and built modern India. The Y2K crisis, which may have brought the computers of the world to a halt, was saved by Indian coders. That led to the birth of the IT services industry and India becoming a tech power.
In the 2000s African AIDS crisis, the Indian healthcare industry stepped up giving affordable medicines and we became the pharmacy of the developing world.
Now as a result of the Covid crisis these very two industries, IT and healthcare, have got together to unleash a HealthTech revolution which will transform India in the 2020s.
