Students at the University of Lynchburg will have the option to enroll in a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a sport management emphasis this fall.
Program director Dr. David Murphy says the new specialized MBA aims to equip graduate students with knowledge and skills related to the commercial and legal aspects of sports.
“This is one of the few programs in the country that combines these two disciplines in this way, making it relevant, rigorous, and unique,” Murphy said.
Possible careers include athletics administration, team and club management, and sports marketing and promotion at the community, college, and professional levels.
“We’re excited about the opportunities this interdisciplinary program brings to sport management professionals everywhere,” said Dr. Daniel Hedrick, chair of the sport management department.
Tuition is $595 per semester hour. Financial aid and graduate assistantships are available. To apply for the MBA with sport management emphasis.
